I want to express my empathy for the millions of Americans who find it necessary to get “high” to get through the day. I realize the struggles you go through, living on the street, sleeping on a heat vent, scrounging for food out of trash bins, living with the fear of being beaten and robbed at any moment.

People in other countries like Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, don’t know how difficult life is for you. Those people are shelled, slaughtered, starved, drink polluted water, have no access doctors or medicines, live in the rubble of buildings, see their entire families wiped out, neighborhoods destroyed, way of life ended, forced to live in refugee camps where the women are raped, have to pay for food that is supposed to me free.

If they only knew what you had to endure: sitting in traffic for an hours air conditioning blasting, driving a two year old car when neighbors have the latest model, having to make due with a three thousand square foot house while your boss has a six thousand square foot mansion.

Only going out to dinner one a week when friends go three times. Forced to drink fifteen dollar bottles of wine when you really want the fifty dollar bottle.

Well, of course the people in those other countries don’t know. They don’t of newspapers and the probably can’t even read. How could they know your plight and the circumstances you have to put up with?

Well, I see and now I know better. So, please continue your epic struggle and use any means available to you, any drug, to help you get through the day.

Well, I’m off now. Got to get that gram of coke, ounce of pot, hit of ecstasy, bag of heroin.

Oh, did I say buy drugs? I’m sorry, what I meant to say is that I’m going to take the money I was going to use to buy drugs and feed a family of twelve in Africa for a month.

Good bless.

My political commentary is meant to bring a heightened consciousness and real discussion to people intent on changing social, political, and economic conditions. Politics as usual is destroying our Democracy. Government corruption demands real political change, not just a new candidate in the old system. Political leadership only leads to self-serving agendas and self aggrandizement. Politicians eschew social causes for personal enrichment. Political power corrupt morality and rationality. The result is criminal behavior and Constitutional crimes.
