Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, HealthyWage, Noom, Diet-to-Go, BistroMD, South beach Diet and Jenny Craig.

  1. They all send out prepared meals.
  2. They all promise you will lose weight.
  3. They are all playing you for a sucker
  4. They are selling you a fairy tale.

These claims are based on greed, not science.  A program that controls what you eat and limits your calories has the exact opposite result than losing weight.

First, you can still eat other food.  You can eat two prepared diners rather than one.  You can stock your freezer with gallons of ice cream and snacks until your stomach explodes.

The only scientifically proven way to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF is to burn more calories than you consume.

If you start eating less food, your mind and body think there is a shortage of food and slows down the metabolism, going into starvation mode.  This makes it even harder to lose weight.

Everyone would like to believe that doing something as simple and easy as eating prepared meals can enable you to lose weight.  This is a fantasy.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off you have to burn more calories than you consume.  If you cut back on what you normally eat, you will not have the energy to exercise.

There are just a few scientifically proven ways to burn calories.

  1. Exercise. There are those who say that walking will help you lose weight.  That is partially true.  If you walk at a normal, moderate pace, you will lose 100 calories by walking one mile.  It will take you about 12 minutes to walk a mile at a 2.5 to 3.5 pace.  So, if you eat one scoop of ice-cream, (137 calories) you will  have to walk one and a third miles.  OF course, who eats just one scoop of cream.
  2. Consume stimulants.  These are mostly illegal and dangerous.  The one stimulant that is not illegal or dangerous is caffeine.  But, you must treat caffeine as a drug, not a treat.  Drink a half cup wit  breakfast.  No sugar: artificial or natural.  Just a splash of milk.  Drink one half cup of coffee a half hour before your morning sweet tooth kicks in (10:30 am.  Drink one half cup of coffee with lunch.  Drink one half cup of coffee a half hour before your afternoon sweet tooth kicks in.  Drink a half a cup of coffee with dinner.’’

If you want to hear fantasy, if you like fairy t tales, if you believe in the tooth fairy, then do not pay attention to what I am saying

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, try to eat a little better then go to the gym three times a week (five would produce faster and more visible results) for (at least) one hour each time.  Spend a half hour using the weight machines and a half hour on the treadmill or stair stepper or elliptical trainer or the stationary bike.

Save the money you were springing on prepared meals and buy yourself clothes to fit you new body.
